Day Trips & Activities

We'd love to help you make the most of your time in Chile. On your RSVP, please tell us your arrival and departure dates and whether you're interested in coast, vineyard, or mountain day trips. Once we know when most people are around, we'll suggest one or two informal group days you can join. These days are likely to be Wednesday 3rd April and Saturday the 4th. Some options below:

Valparaíso & Viña del Mar (Colorful Coast)

Travel time: 1.5–2 hours by car or bus

Why go: UNESCO‑listed port city with steep hills, funiculars and world‑class street art (Valparaíso), plus seaside promenade and beaches (Viña del Mar). Often combined with wine tasting in Casablanca Valley on the way.

Casablanca Valley (Wine Country)

Travel time: About 1 hour west of Santiago

Why go: Cool‑climate valley famous for Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with beautiful rolling vineyards, guided tours, tastings and long winery lunches.

Maipo Valley (Wine Country, Closer Option)

Travel time: 45 minutes–1 hour south of Santiago

Why go: Classic red‑wine region, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, with historic wineries like Santa Rita. Easy access for a shorter day.

Cajón del Maipo / Andes (Mountains & Hot Springs)

Travel time: 1.5–2 hours from Santiago into the Andes

Why go: Dramatic mountain scenery, rivers, and natural hot springs. Options range from easy sightseeing stops to gentle hikes. Good for active adults and families who enjoy the outdoors.
