Getting Around Santiago
Transportation Options
As mentioned, we will arrange group transport to and from the wedding venue on the day of the event from the Las Condes / Parque Araucano area, so you don't need to worry about how to get to Centro Eventos Botánico on the day. It is fundamental that you let us know that you want to be counted towards this service as we will arrange vehicles according to head count.
For everything else – airport transfers, sightseeing, dinners out – please plan and book your own transport. Below are easy options most visitors use in Santiago.
Airport to Your Hotel / Airbnb:
Santiago International Airport (Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport)
Airport Code: SCL
Location: 15 km (9 miles) northwest of downtown Santiago
Official Website: https://www.nuevopudahuel.cl/en/
The airport is modern, well-organized, and has:
- Free WiFi throughout
- Currency exchange and ATMs (better rates than in the airport - use ATMs if possible)
- Duty-free shopping
- Multiple dining options
- SIM card kiosks in arrivals area

- Baggage storage facilities
From Santiago International Airport (SCL) to Las Condes is about 25–30 minutes by car depending on traffic. Options include:
- Pre‑booked airport transfer / shuttle: Private or shared cars and vans from the airport straight to hotels in Las Condes
- Official taxi from the airport: Fixed‑price or metered taxis from official stands at arrivals.
We want to ensure everyone can join us for our special day!
Staying Connected - eSIM Recommendations
For international guests, we highly recommend getting an eSIM before you travel to Chile. An eSIM (digital SIM card) allows you to have mobile data and connectivity as soon as you land in Santiago, without needing to hunt for a physical SIM card at the airport or in the city.
Why eSIM is convenient:
- Instant activation upon arrival

- Keep your home phone number active

- Works with most modern smartphones (iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20+, Google Pixel 3+, etc.)

Getting Around Day‑to‑Day
Ride‑hailing apps: DiDi, Uber and Cabify all operate in Santiago; DiDi is often cheapest, Cabify more premium, Uber very common.
Metro: Santiago's metro is clean and efficient; Line 1 (red line) serves Las Condes and the city centre. It needs to be said: Kata is not the best “public transport” guide there is but she does have SOMEONE who speaks english who can take you on many adventures. He happens to be the best man too so he will be delighted and fulfilling his duty hehe.
On foot: Around Parque Araucano / Parque Arauco / Alto Las Condes, you can walk to parks, shopping centres, cafés and many restaurants, now this IS 100% Kata’s domain. Rumour has it, breakfast at LV or Cafe Armani is where you might find her around mid morning.
Currency & Payments
Currency is CLP Chilean Peso, Apple pay works everywhere as do all major credit cards. The exchange rate is around 1000 CLP to 80 USD/.1 GBP
